Touchscreen kiosk with stained glass windows in background

First United Methodist Church

Project Description

One of Midland’s oldest churches, First United Methodist Church, needed a way to share information about its memorial windows and about the members buried in their memorial garden. So we created these two touchscreen kiosks, one near the garden (for the obituaries of those buried there) and one in the chapel (as a guide to the windows). Visitors to the kiosks can search for entries by name and tap the names to learn more about the window or person.

Our second project for First UMC involved building custom furniture for their fellowship area. The Welcome Center provides a readily-identifiable area for visitors to get directions and information about the church. The TV on the wall behind it also displays announcements about upcoming events and programs.  Meanwhile, the cabinet/table we built centralizes the supplies for coffee and snacks, encouraging conversation and socializing after the services.
